premiere v15.0 bug report, playback via black magic
Windows 10
Premiere v15.0
32GB Ram
i7-9700k stock settings
Asus Prime 2390 with thunderbolt
GTX 1080 ti
Thunderbolt ex3 card to UltraStudio Minimonitor via Thunderbolt cable
Ultrastudio to Flanders Display via SDI
I'm working in a 1080p timeline with Red 8k footage @ 23.976. I have proxies attached at ProResLT @ 1080p. Proxies are toggled on.
When I do trimming, i.e. roll, slip, etc. The playback becomes overwhelmed and starts to lag. Overwrite and insert edits are not a problem. If I trim too fast, like lots of trims in a row, premiere eventually crashes, as does the whole system. Guessing it has something to do with premiere displaying multiple frames together in the program window? But these are not transmitted to the broadcast display.
BM Desktop Video stops detecting the mini monitor, and it comes back eventually (but not necessarily as a result of restarts, it's like it needs a few days).
This is a new problem for me. I have just updated Premiere, and I rarely use RED footage (esp. this big), I'm used to Arri or Sony of some sort. The footage size and the new premiere are the only new variables I can think of.
Tried my BM Intensity, same results.
Trims with the Intensity or Ultrastudio unplugged causes no problems, trimming is smooth.
Drivers are updated.

Denoise effect stops working
Every time I apply the denoise effect, the next time I open the project the effect has stopped working and I need to delete and re-apply the effect. This happens whether I apply the effect to the track or to individual clips. It also happens whether using the essential sound panel, or applying it via the effects panel.

1 vote -
Transform in Premiere is utterly glitched.
Transform Effect on Premiere is utterly broken. Frames don't display accurately until they're rendered out, and at which point it's anyone's guess if it can be corrected from there -- sometimes adjusting keyframes in Transform responds the way they should, other times the effect simply DOES NOT respond to keyframes. Since this is by far the easiest way to add motion blurred movement this really needs to be corrected.

Add keyboard shortcuts for up to 5 Favorite "Audio Transitions".
In Premiere Pro I waste a lot of time programming 3 frame, 6 frm, 12 frm & 1 or2 second audio dissolves. Final Cut Pro 7 had this... should be super easy to program. This would be a MAJOR time saver in editing.

Export File Size Estimation live update
In PP Beta right now adjusting the bit rate for export on h.264s does not live update the file size estimation, as it did in previous versions. This means there's no way of knowing what size of file you're producing until after you've exported it. Previously there was a live update when the bit rate was adjusted, which while not completely accurate, was a pretty good guide. Could we please have this functionality back so we don't have to guess, export, get it wrong and have to make another guess and so on.
In this example below the file I actually got after reducing the bit rate before export was about 229MB.In PP Beta right now adjusting the bit rate for export on h.264s does not live update the file size estimation, as it did in previous versions. Add a dark mode for both the menu and the title bar [Windows 10]
While (on Windows 10) there is a workaround for the title bar, this is a) not exactly optimal and b) does NOT encompass the menu bar.
This has been requested by lots of Premiere Pro users in various forums, so let's make it official and finally get this feature out.

BUG: 708 Captions display incorrectly
x-post from message boards:
Current workflow for network delivery is export 1080/23.98 ProResHQ master from competitor's NLE, Rewrap and embed 608/708 CC using CineXtools. Files have been checked on various waveform monitors, Telestream Switch and Quicktime player. All show embedded CC correctly.
Network then imports captioned master file into Premiere Pro v14.7 for formatting. From this point, 708 captions are incorrect. They are at the top of screen rather than where originally placed, the text color is grey instead of white, many characters (particularly apostrophes) are incorrect, and entire blocks of captions are missing.
In Premiere Pro v13, both 608 and 708 captions playback correctly.
Looking for a workflow/workaround or software revision that corrects this in version 14.
I can provide a sample file to Adobe via DM if desired.

They are not missing. They are genuine Microsoft installed fonts.3 votes -
Fix Black Screen Crash
Randomly Premier Pro will freeze, causing my entire PC to freeze, unable to access task manager or anything else. BOTH my monitors will then go black for a few seconds, until they flash and then Premier Pro will close.

Vignette bug after update june 2020
Hi,
After last june 2020 update of Adobe Premiere I am experiencing problems when adding vignette to footage in Lumetri color panel.
Lumetri works fine with all the color options, but when I add some vignette I am getting white blocks in my footage (as shown in the attached image).
I hope that it is a bug and not a problem with my GPU. I am not getting this problem when I change rendering to 'software only'. I also must note that I am using the latest Nvidia Studio Drivers (451.48).

My specs are:

Make the Program monitor "active" for motion effects by default when a clip is selected in the timeline
When a clip is selected in the timeline, make the Program monitor active to adjust the motion parameters of that clip. As it is now, a user has to select the clip in the timeline, then click on the Motion effects in the Effects Control window to make the Program monitor active.
It's just inefficient. The Program monitor isn't "active" for any other use when a clip is selected in the timeline, why not make it active for the most likely parameter a user might want to control?
Thanks in advance.1 vote -
Source monitor waveform color follows label color
It would be neat if the waveform in source monitor was not always the usual yellowish tint, but instead color coded depending on the label color assigned to each clip.
So if I have a blue label assigned to a footage item in project window, this color will be respected and the source monitor will show this color tint instead.
Why?
Useful when sorting multiple clips, where one is not familiar with waveform form and switching through them to decide which to select, will give a color coded hint.
Since editors are most often visual memory types this will add to their productivity. It would be neat if the waveform in source monitor was not always the usual yellowish tint, but instead color coded depending on the label color assigned to each clip.

Relink media by clip name
I'm relinking a media managed project and I would be really sped up by the ability to relink a matching file by Clip Name rather than File Name.

we need a way to import high frame rate slow motion footage directly into adobe premier. right now anything you try to import above 60fpsvfr comes through choppy.
