  1. Force Premiere to use XMP sidecar files

Entering file metadata on multiple clips at once seems to cause Premiere to crash for some of us. (See this issue reported almost a year ago: https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/36933751-bug-entering-xmp-metadata-in-batches-causes-crash)

It seems that one way to resolve this issue might be to create a setting that forces Premiere Pro to write XMP metadata to sidecar files even if a given file format supports embedding it within the file.

Even if this issue were to be fixed, it seems like sidecar files would be less error prone and I personally would feel more at ease if Premiere wasn't altering my video files in…

Premiere Pro uses .xmp sidecar files for MXF files, and some MPEG-1 formats. We will continue to embed the XMP data in the formats which support it.

We’d rather fix the crashes you reference, than change how metadata is handled for numerous file formats.

  3. Stop the stupid timeline removal

It is so sick and idiotic that you can delete a timeline.. The whole film for a client just by x-ing the timeline just over it where you can switch. Soooo much **** to do to find it. And not at least extra work man!

  4. fix the update process

It is not ok, that a post dot update (12DOT1) messes up the file interchangeability. If on one machine the messed up update makes it impossible to export the work you did into a usable codec (hap, dds or any other QT-codec that is being used by pro-standard media servers like pandoras box or others) you have to be able to transfer the file (and working time) to another machine running 12.1 to export your work.
Bring back qt7 and backward compatibility, please!

OS level support for old codecs was removed.

Rather than create new support for old formats, PPro will instead invest in support for popular modern formats.

PPro supports a unified plug-in directory for all installed PPro versions.
