ANNOUNCEMENT - This forum is moving

In an effort to improve communications between you and the Premiere Pro team, we are moving this feedback forum to the Premiere Pro page on the Adobe Support Community. As requested, bugs and feature requests will be able to live separately in that forum.

This move is happening in part to acknowledge that we haven't been responsive enough here, and we are combining our forums to help remedy that. Ideas and their attached comments from this UserVoice forum will be migrated based on how many people voted for them. Check your profile on the Adobe Support Community to see any migrated posts that you've created or commented on. If you have an item here that did not make the migration, please bring it over to our new home.

See you soon on the Adobe Support Forum!

  1. FIX the bug of audio missing from export

When exporting a video sequence premiere randomly leaves out part of the audio. Those part were not muted, but in the same channel and of the same kind of other parts exported fine, not even cut: so for instance you have a talker that randomly get the voice silent.
This is a big reliability issue, because there is no correspondence of what you have on timeline and what you are going to have on final export. This happens on different machines and happened also with previous versions of Premiere different from this one at moment of writing 15.4.1 (build 4).…

  2. h264/hevc exports still broken on Apple silicon (22.5)

When exporting to h264 and hevc, clips that are from a Sony cam and encoded H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Long GOP High Profile 4:2:0 Unconstrained Coding, rec 709, every 12th frame of the 23.97 source clip has flattened color, as if the color profile was deactivated just for that frame.
But oddly, this does not affect clips from the same camera that were shot in the S-Log3 Cine color profile.
Workaround: this problem does not occur if I export to ProRes instead.

    macOS 12.4, M1 Ultra, Premiere Pro 22.5

  4. Make AAF include video edits not just a mixdown track

On AAF export settings there is only an option to export a mixed down video track. Can the export be extended to allow for consolidated clips with handles be built for each video edit in the sequence.

  5. Bug: Audio exported from Premiere Pro 2021 via Final Cut Pro XML

I've encountered a consistently repeatable bug with Final Cut Pro XML imports.

For some reason this only applies to NEW 2021 projects, I've tried both 15.1 and 15.4 and both versions have the bug. Any project created in Premiere Pro 2019 and then opened in 2021 will export fine to XML.

However if you create a new project in 2021, drag an mp4 to the project, and then right click and create a new timeline from the mp4 file, then make 10-20 cuts (unlinking the video and audio may or may not make a difference - have not tested, many…

We’ve followed the guidance you’ve posted, and can create no problematic XML files. From QE:

We’ve tried variations of linked or not and different types of cuts and slip edits, and they always came back in perfectly via XML whether I imported or did Open Project like the user suggested.

Can you provide a project, and step-by-step instructions on how to reliably reproduce the problem you’re seeing?

  6. Set a custom thumbnail preview for videos

It is very surprising that Adobe has not made a custom video thumbnail option standard in Premiere pro.
It should at the very least be the first frame not a random spot in the video. This is very disappointing and an obvious over sight.
    Please fix.

  8. Allow us to delete encoder presets

There are a lot of settings I will never use. Some are outdated (DV), others I just don't have a need for.

I appreciate all the presets provided, but all the clutter makes it harder to find the settings I actually use. Let me delete or at least hide the settings I will never use.

This might belong in the Media Encoder section, but it also applies to Premiere and I find it more bothersome in Premiere.

Is it better to allow removing those presets or simply have an interface that is simpler with the most common delivery formats? Should there be a progressive disclosure for those that want access to more settings but not necessarily expose that?

We recognize that there are a million settings in Premiere Pro and AME – most of which are irrelevant to many users. It’s an interesting discussion on how Export should be designed so we are genuinely interested in hearing more from people about what they’d like to see.
