Audio Effects Cause Playback Latency
I currently have an i9-10900k with an RTX 3090 and 64GB of DDR4 memory. Our SAN has insane throughput. But Premiere's Audio Effects seem to really bog Premiere down.
I currently got off the phone with a technician who basically reiterated what you've mentioned so far - number of effects and number of audio clips gets higher and higher seem, the end-user will inevitably experience exponential slowdown.
I'm on a 25 minute edit, There's a 8 tracks of dialogue (not including music and SFX) with a lot of edit points. With 4 effects (parametric EQ, Dynamic Processing (Soft Limit), Single-band Compressor (voice limiter), and denoise, playback takes up to 30 seconds to respond.
Would love for Adobe to optimize Premiere to utilize more available computing resources to speed up audio processing. While waiting to play, my CPU and Memory usage only go up to 30%. I don't know what revamping or coding that requires but the audio effects in Premiere work pretty great, and for 1 day turnarounds for long edits (1, 2 hours), being able to stay within Premiere and avoid roundtripping or exporting exports of exports would be a huge plus.
