Fix "locate media" connection for image files BUG, editing ext drive multiple systems
Moving from system with ssd or hard drive, premiere will not accept .psd or .png files, fail to import, no reason given. Bug has been present in multiple releases for many years now... still not fixed.
Why isn't it a higher priority? Things like this are One of Big the Agitating Factors when pro premiere users find updates in new releases cosmetic or actually detrimental to workflows, the known issue list and needed fixes just not given a priority.
After Adobe doesn't address glaring known bugs like this for several releases, should we just get the message that they have washed their hands of it & broken is good enough? "So it borks graphics every time you move from one system to another, so what?" Is kinda the message.
Comes consistently when another editor packages a project hand-off too me on SSD or FTP, or even when I'm just migrating desktop to laptop with SSD or external SATA USB3.
Doesn't even matter if the file's address/location reads the same on the different systems.
1 - Multiple permutations of opening & re-saving,just to change offending files through target system's photoshop..Then light image editing, flip toggle color modes & layers on/off before re-saving to try to fool the project loader.....,
2- Saving .psd as .png & versa-vice
I can't be then only one regularly dealing with this, right?
Affected systems for us ** **Win10 Pro, PP 2019-2022(at least... but this is as far back as I can confirm ATM & it's bad enough) Intel/Nvidia system with studio drivers
