The Windows File Explorer is an integral part of any program's file operations, whether it be creating new projects, opening existing documents, or being able to rename and delete items. Removing this core Windows application process from Premiere's New Project dialog and the Project Export dialog adds unnecessary steps to an otherwise simple process. Windows File Explorer is available for all programs for a reason, especially for Premiere, a program that relies on lots of user files and project management tasks.

The new UI has removed the ability to see what files are in the selected project folder when creating a new project. The Windows File Explorer does appear when selecting a folder location, but no files are shown as this is for folder selection only; there is no File Explorer when selecting a project file name. Without the ability to see what files are present in the selected folder, it is not possible to perform common tasks, such as ensuring a unique project name is selected, the correct folder has been selected based on the files present, or being able to conform to previous project naming conventions. To perform such a task, one must now leave Premiere and open a Windows File Explorer window to explore the project folder.

The Windows File Explorer has also been removed from the Export settings. It is not possible to see what files are present in a selected folder without leaving Premiere and navigating to the project folder to see the export folder's contents. Again, this is a basic task of Windows applications that seem to have been removed unnecessarily.

I cannot see what files are in a selected folder for project creation or export, thus I consider this a critical flaw in the the program that needs to be corrected.
