version 22.4.0 constantly recreating peak files every time project is opened
After an upgrade to version 22.4.0 of Premiere, every time I launch the application and open a project, Premiere wants to re-create/re-generate the peak (.pek) files. So, I have some projects that have new peak files for every time I have loaded the project.
And recently, upon closing Premiere, I get a "Metadata writing in progress (194 files pending). If you quit before writing is complete, data will be lost. Are you sure you want to quit?"
Historically, I know this has popped up from time to time for others in other versions, but this is a first for me.
This is a Windows 10 system with 32GB RAM, dedicated video hard drives and cache drives. Cache is set to write metadata next to original files when possible. Otherwise, I have a dedicated area specified.

Further update.... HOPING someone can help me out here:
Of the files in this current documentary, I have used BRAW (Blackmagic Design RAW) and MP4 files (h.264). Only the BRAW are generating peak files every time PPro is opened and the sequence is loaded.
With another TV show I am editing, I am using all of the above file formats, plus MOV (h.264 Quicktime from a Panasonic CX350 and ProRes 422 from an Atomos Shogun), and AVCHD (h.264 ".mts" transport files from a Sony NX5u). Only the MOV and BRAW files are having multiple peak files generated every time a project is opened (blue progress bar shows peak file generation).
Whether the peak files exist, or whether I delete them all and re-load the project, Premiere does not seem to care and keeps re-creating them.
Thanks for your help! Don't know what more I can tell you at this time until you request some additional information.

As discussed by email others files do display this behavior, it doesn't seem linked to BRAW Studio. If someone else has the same issue please share files that gets constantly regenerated, and files that don't. Thanks !

A follow-up: The peak files seem to only be re-generated for the Blackmagic Design BRAW files. Other WAV files in the audio project are not being duplicated. I have confirmed that every time the project is closed and the application is closed, the peak files will be regenerated. This only happens if the app is closed. If you simply close the project and re-open, everything is fine. This may have something to do with the "Metadata writing in progress..." error. That is still occurring every time I try to close Premiere. I also have tried using it with saving metadata next to originals and otherwise. No difference. I have turned on and off the preferences for writing XMP data on import. I have also tried resetting Premiere Pro. No difference.
