Playhead/Playback Function - *STOP moving/Snapping timeline to playhead*
When I press Play and watch playback and Playhead moves downs the timeline and off the screen(Past the timeline preview selected area) and I stop the playback my whole timeline snaps to where the playhead ended up. Then I have to move my timeline back to where it was.
So I tried to see if I could instead of hitting stop maybe just click on Where I want the playhead to return without pressing stop but then it still stops the video play back and snaps my timeline it to where the playhead is at that moment.
I have spent about 6 hours researching this across multiple days and I have found 20 plus posts about the exact same thing.
I would just like to for Premiere to stop moving my timeline when I hit stop or pause and when I click the playhead area to recall the playhead... for it to come to where I clicked not snap my whole timeline over to where the playhead is at that moment. I waste so much time... 100's of times pressing stop and having to move my timeline back and then hitting play and watching again and hitting stop and having to move my timeline back again. PLEASE!!!! MAKE THIS STOP.

Having the option if following the playhead is enabled or not would be great. So everyone can decide when or which to use.
In addition it would be nice having an option for the playhead automatically return to the start position (like in Audition)

This is ruining my workflow entirely, and making editing just no fun in general. It's the equivalent of when wired headphones get caught on something and rip them off your head.

I dont just want to pile on complaining here but this is a huge pain in the a$$.. has anybody come across a solution for this?

this is driving me crazy, older versions didnt do this, it's adding so much time and frustration to simple edit jobs.
Please adobe, stop the timeline jumping to where the playhead is when stopping!

I agree, I really need this option. No other DAW or NLE does this... Does Adobe developers even try their software or check out other products? This is so backwards.

This is a big problem for me. My timeline should not be affected by hitting play/pause even when my playhead is out of sight. also I should be able to move playhead while playing. but right now I can only do that if the playhead is in sight.

I agree, this setting feels broken. I don't remember if previous versions behaved this way as well.
I would recommend redeveloping the "No Scroll" drop down option for the Preferences > Timeline > change Timeline Playback Auto-Scrolling. If it is truly "no scroll" then there's not really a good reason to have it jump to where the playhead stops (that's the same result you'd get with Scrolling turned on)
