Need captions in V 15 and above to travel till the bottom of the screen irrespective of safe margins
I need the captions workspace to allow the captions to be taken below the safe margins. I am using the same concept for my clients in V 14.9 for a long time and they would like to keep it.
See the screenshot of my active workflow.

Not just to the bottom of the screen, but be as customizable as using a Text Essential Graphics component - so, be able to place them wherever we like on the screen. Many clients have brand guidelines that require specific placement and size of text. Thanks!

I agree with Justin. I have a similar requirement like Arun. I need to burn in the captions such that they are right at the topmost part of the video. Since I am pretty sure the end product will be played entirely from the computer, I don't think the safety margins are necessary.
Please allow the customization, put a warning dialog box in to alert unknowing users if necessary
Otherwise, for users who know what they are doing and need to do so, it will be great to have that override -

This needs to change. Very unprofessional to impose this limitation without any further explanation.
Additionally, it is very restrictive that the caption track is bound to the top of the stack, above all other video tracks. I want graphics to lay over captions, and the older version of Premiere allowed me this option.
If it was related to compatibility with other software that was necessary to have the captions function properly, I would understand - it would not be Adobe's decision. But this is just embarrassing.

I work primarily in subtitles and not captions, but currently with the revamped workflow for captions, I am so far unable to place subtitles below the title safe area. I can select the bottom middle zone, but I can only offset its normal placement upward in the frame, not downward. For content that won't normally be seen on a normal TV screen, I would prefer to have the subtitles placed at the bottom of the screen, below title safe. Under the old process, I could achieve this with the Effects tab, but now those properties do not seem to be accessible for the new captions track.

I need this as well. We produce localized videos for other markets, and almost always require subtitles below the safe margins due to un-alterable lower thirds placement.
As it's all web video, safe margins aren't really a necessary adherence.

On the new caption workflow t seems as though the position of captions is restricted to the "safe margins" of the screen.
Please can you make it so they can be positioned anywhere on the screen, i,e all the way to the top and bottom.
On the previous workflow you could achieve this by altering the positing within the "Effects control", but now there is no way of doing it.

srt export was broken in Beta builds from about a week ago. It should be fixed in the latest Beta build (Pr 15.0 x Beta 024) which you can update to using your CC desktop app.
The screenshot you attached helped us to understand what you are seeing. Could you maybe attach another one to show us how you want it to look? The caption bumpers you are hitting are at just 5% of the Program Monitor frame area, which leaves very little room for readable text outside of that area.

I am trying to subtitle an entire webcast. The core content is appearing within the safe margins and our visual identity requires us to place the subtitle to the bottom of the screen. I tried adjusting the position of the subtitle, but it doesn't go beyond the safe margins. Also, since the caption doesn't appear in a separate layer in the timeline, I cannot manually adjust the position as well. Also, the export to srt function appears to be not functioning in this beta. We prefer more control over the caption's position, scale etc...
Nevertheless, the transcripting fuctionality is **** cool and greatly useful. A little more control and it is awesome. -
Thank you for your feedback, Arun. It's good to see folks using our new captions workflow already and we're interested in helping people have the best experience possible. Can you tell us more about the workflow which requires you to move a caption outside of safely visible areas in the Program Monitor?

Please make it flexible for the editor to move the auto transcripted caption layer beyond the safe margins.
