Treat "Source" effects as the Intrinsic effects are, and display only one Effects Control tab
Currently there are two tabs for the Effects Control Panel ... the Source and Sequence tabs.
Much "modern" media is meta-driven, and has what are set as "Source" tab controls: all Log & RAW formats among others.
But the user never ever sees ALL effects on a clip in one place, and does not even KNOW there are perhaps Source effects applied when in the Sequence effects tab.
Plus ... the only way to get between them requires a mouse action, as there are no keyboard shortcuts nor control surface actions to change panels.
It's slow, clunky, inefficient, and ... a pain.
"Source" effects should simply be treated as the "intrinsic" effects are treated, and all effects on any clip should be shown in ONE and only one tab of the Effects Control Panel.
We would still be able to see they were 'different' than the standard/sequence effects, yet we'd be able to see and change everything in one view.

What would make this work is an option in the effect controls panel menu called "Show source clip effects", which would show or hide them at the top of the list.
So cumbersome to alter source clip effects between many different clips!

I'm going to upvote this because having the two types of effects on two different tabs is cumbersome.
A related bug that Neil's suggestion might fix:
Sometimes, I switch to the Effect Controls panel and it opens in the Source portion of the Effect Controls tab, even though I have not added any Source Effects. I then have to click to the intrinsic effects portion of the ECP to get at any clip effects. This would really confuse a new user. A single tab would fix my issue and would serve the new user better.
