possible bug with Canon crm and BlackMagic Mini Monitor 4K

Using Canon crm 4K
Program and source monitors freeze. I can still move around the timeline but it will not play. I can save the project. If I then quit Premiere, the window closes but the app does not quit. Eventually have to force quit. Problem doesn't occur if I uncheck BlackMagic Playback. I've tried downgrading the Blackmagic Desktop Video software several versions but get the same behavior. This only happens when using crm 4K footage.
