Premiere pro 15.1 completely unusable. Opening any project causes 100% cpu usage until the system crashes
Running a system with an AMD 1950x Threadripper, RTX 3090 and 128gb of ram.
Premiere 15.0 and 15.1 are completely unusable for me, upon trying to open any project Cpu usage will spike to 100% and make the whole system extremely laggy (Task manager goes non responsive, mouse is 10 seconds behind on movement)
This 100% cpu usage goes on forever till either the system freezes or i somehow manage to force close premiere.
Same projects take 5 seconds to load in Premiere 14.9
Really would like to use the new features with Motion graphics templates introduced in premiere 2021 but currently it is utterly impossible as i cant actually open any project what so ever.
The only way to open a project is to create a new blank one, and import the previous project to it. But that too will become unusable the second i close the project/premiere.

Same on iMac
Caching on two seperate SSDs
Fx turned off
High quality playback turned off
Preferences reset
Viewing at 1/4 quality...and yet hit play and see no movement. Jumps between still images on the screen as audio plays. CANNOT render the timeline in order to edit it will take for ever. Should not have to use proxies on all these videos as they are not raw or too large. And I resent having to find a work around for what should be super easy edits.
Will roll back to an older version and when this project is over will switch to DaVinci cos this is ********.

Same for me. Using a Ryzen 9 3950x CPU with 64GB Ram. Also a GTX 1070.
Also After Effects runs worse. Premiere 14.9 runs just fine, and currently I am using this former version again. Hope there is a fix to that soon.

I'm on a mac and this happens to me too. The program is pretty much unusable currently for me.
I can playback for a few seconds before it starts getting choppy. Even when I render the timeline it's still choppy. And on top of that, when I ripple edit, or trim a clip, it flashes and strobes when I drag it.
I envy those who never get these bugs.
