Loop function for caption segment
When using the new caption tool for Premiere Pro 2021 I would like to see a play & loop function for the active text segment. While transcribing it would make it so much easier and faster if the timeline looped the time of the segment. (I've seen this function in the video editing software Camtasia)
Example:
I've set a shortcut key for "add new caption segment at playhead".
When pressing the shortcut key or the +-button in the text tab, I wish it would (1) automatically add a new caption segment, (2) activate the field for typing text (in the text tab, not in the preview window) and (3) start looping the segment on the timeline. See attached picture – Suggestion 1.
(If you click the +-button, step 1 and 2 already works but the field for typing text isn't automatically activated when using the shortcut.)
If there also is possible to adjust the length of the caption segment while it keeps looping and the text field is still active, that would be even better.
I would also like to see a play & loop button in each text field in the text tab.
When using the shortcut "Edit selected caption text" the text layer is activated in the preview window instead of in the text tab.
When I'm transcribing I just write what I hear and makes the line break afterwards. I usually use CEA-708 so the limitation is 43 characters on each row. When editing the text in the preview window, everything written over 43 characters disappears. I would therefor prefer if this shortcut activated the text field in the text tab instead. See attached picture – Suggestion 2
This two suggestions would surely speed up my workflow and hopefully every other user as well.
There's also a very annoying bug in the 15.0 version. If I quit Premiere Pro and then restart it, the captions have been duplicated and there's no way to get rid of the clone. See attached picture – Bug 1. I've tried just about everything, but it's still there. There's no way to hide it, move it or delete it. If I edit the captions in the project, the cloned captions doesn't "update" until I restart the program.
