Issues with using the new Captioning interface
I am an amateur video editor and I have been using premiere pro since September of 2020. I hand caption all of the videos due to the content using specific technical terms that are not picked up by auto-captions. I really settled into the workflow of the old captioning interface.
When the update went live, I was unaware of the interface upgrade, or event he update itself. It took me about 2 hours to A. find the new interface, B. figure out how to work within it. I now can work within it but there were some features that were removed that I wish were still in there.
The "Add caption at playhead" is a good idea but I am always scrubbing back into each caption segment to make sure I have heard the words correctly and very rarely is the playhead at the exact end of the previous caption. Can we please add a keyboard shortcut for "Add caption after"? I am currently having to right click and select for every new caption and I have accidentally deleted the most recent caption by mistake.
Also, when I click out of the "Text" panel, the window automatically scrolls and returns to caption 1, regardless of where I was working. This means moving the playhead to double check pronunciation and to find stop points between words, and to change the duration of the caption segment itself. I either have to scroll back to where I was working, which becomes tiresome when I've reached 26+ caption segments, or I have to move the playhead back to the previous caption for the Text panel to relocate to where I am working.
In the previous version, clicking on a caption segment once would auto scroll to that caption that was being worked on. If you could bring back something to that effect, that would really help my workflow get back on track.
