User choice to import RED R3D Files as log or rec709 rather than have a default behavir
Give us the option to have RED R3d files be imported in as either Log or Rec709 rather than have it chosen for us by the program. Having it default to LOG really impacts the speed of our workflow on shorter, less color sensitive projects. Granted we grade from log for a lot of our work but some projects just need to be pushed out the door with a minimum of clicks and time and having to open the master clips to make changes takes a lot of time on a quick turnaround. It would be great to be able to select either option (or rec2020 for that matter) with specific gamma project to project or at least in the preferences so that we can adjust the behavior of incoming R3D clips rather than have it chosen for us.

It’s been years and no solve for this. You have to manually change color space in red raw settings on EACH CLIP and if you copy / paste this risk changing exposures across all footage. What’s the main reason people are choosing Resolve over Premiere? Color management…….

AGREED. Please allow us to import as rec709
My only work around now is that Media Encoder 2020 imports as 709 so I have to go back to that version.
