Premiere Pro Won't Open Projects
Whenever I try to open a pre-existing project, Premiere will load 3/4 of the project, before it stops loading and stops responding. It will then crash and say that there is a problem with the project file.
This happens to all projects - new and old.
I'm currently running the latest version of Catalina on a 16 inch Macbook Pro with the latest version of Premiere installed.
I've opened the exact same project files on a friends 15 inch Macbook running the same version of Catalina and Premiere Pro, and haven't experienced a single problem.
The only workaround I currently have is to create a new project, and import my old project into this.

Same problems, shows the file opens but no media opens. Extremely frustrating to do the new project and import every time I need to make a simple change. Adobe please get this fixed.

Also happnening to me, on my Mac Pro Late 2013 - no workaround works (new project import, or opening the project without Mercury Playback enabled).
Having the same issue here on 22.1.2 (build 1) on iMac Pro and brand new MacBook Pro M1 - crazy to me how this is a known issue and no recent updates have addressed it. Been putting up with it for months.

I'm having the same issue. Premiere will open the project and get past the splash screen, but the footage doesn't load and then I get the dreaded beachball and have to force quit the application.
I've tried resetting preferences and this didn't work. I've uninstalled plugins which didn't help either, I even upgraded to the latest version of neat video as I thought this might help, but it didn't.
My work around at the moment is to either create a new project and import the old one, or alternatively, rename the folder that the footage is saved to - this forces me to relink media when opening and seems to do the trick. But neither of these options are sustainable and both waste a lot of time.

I also have the same problem where you can't open the project by double clicking the file as it stalls and the program crashes.
I am running Catalina on a 2019 16 inch Macbook Pro (2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB).
My work around is similar by opening Premiere from the dock, start a new project, then from the menu open the old project which opens fine, then close the new untitled project. This seems to be the only work around which is really frustrating.

Same problem but on Windows. Can't open it and the Windows indexer hits 13% CPU and then dies after 10 seconds.
