When opening a clip in the source monitor to edit into a timeline, do NOT automatically enable all the audio tracks. If they are not shown, the source patch panel will show an audio channel with a + symbol indicating there are more tracks not showing. If you edit it into the timeline without opening it up to show all the audio tracks, it will add all those tracks to the timeline, sometimes creating new unwanted audio channels. Allow the editor to manually activate the tracks needed instead. Keeps the timeline more manageable
