Bug in Premiere Pro - version 14.5.0
I updated to the latest version today, Oct. 21, 2020 - - whenever I am working in a project in Premiere, and then close the project to open another project, ALL keyboard shortcuts stop working. I have to completely quit Premiere, and reset preferences (hold "Option/ALT" upon launching) for the shortcuts to be restored.
And then if I hop to another project, again, the shortcuts stop working.
I have zero custom keyboard shortcuts; all of the shortcuts that cease to work are the ones native to Premiere.

Sounds scary; we’re not yet able to reproduce that behavior, here.
Confirming: In Preferences —> General —> Most Recent, is yours set to show the Home screen (the default behavior), or have you changed the pref to “open most recent”?

I had a similar issue that seemed to be linked to the multi-monitor bug "stuck panel" that was introduced in 14.5, but in 14.6 it seems to have disappeared. No word yet on whether Premiere will randomly delete my System32 folder in retaliation.

I had the same issue. I had to revert to 14.4 for a while. With the release of 14.6, this issue got fixed for me. Now working as expected.

I'm having the same issue after updating. Not able to use keyboard shortcuts or drag files into projects upon opening. One inconvenient workaround I've found is changing the workspace to something different (Effects, Color, Audio etc.) then saving and going back to my normal workspace and saving then all functionality is restored but this has to be done every time a new project is opened. A permanent fix would be great!

Same. I can't even select a clip in the timeline to shift it around. I had to go back to an earlier version of Premiere where things where still working.

Same issue here. Any shortcuts in my bin or my timeline. It's slowing down my post speeds. Any help/troubleshooting would be great.

Found a similar issue(on Windows). Realised that my After Effects update wiped my custom saved workspaces. Premiere Pro didn't but I was unable to drag items around in my project folders and certain windows stopped responding to shortcuts. After rebuilding the workspace and saving as a new one, all functionality has been restored.

I also updated yesterday and have a pretty alarming issue where ALL keyboard functionality does not work within the application. I can scrub the timelines with a mouse and sound/picture play back as normal. I imported my previous project into a new project. Also trashed previous media cache. I also tried 2 different keyboards with same results (wired and wireless)
