Stop welcome screen from opening while closing documents
Please stop Premiere Pro from auto-opening the welcome screen when closing a document. Here's why...
Closing a document is absolutely the wrong time to display a welcome screen. Why do this?
The welcome screen appears automatically, is not user-initiated, and wrongly assumes your next task. If we want to open a document, we'll do that ourselves.
Auto-opening the welcome screen is akin to an irritating website pop-up; it stops you mid-task with something you don't want. Premiere is a professional application, so just have more class than website advertising. Easy!
If you close the welcome screen, it quits Premiere which is rarely your intention. If we want to quit Premiere, we'll do that ourselves.
The alternate preference doesn't allow Premiere to be open without a document. This is a needless restriction and is inconsistent with other Adobe apps as well as most apps on the Mac. I use Windows as well and love the way Mac apps can be open without a document. If you support an OS, support its norms.
