Opacity mask over motion graphics template fails to export - Premiere Pro 2020 bug
Whenever I apply and manually track an opacity mask over a motion graphic template (also with the Transform effect applied to it) and try to export the 4K timeline in 1080p H.265 using the Media Encoder preset, all exports from that timeline fail. When the mask is removed, the timeline exports perfectly. I was able to recreate it in two instances (screenshots of timeline and errors from Pr and ME attached) but did not try exporting in anything other than H.265 1080p. This is a 4K timeline that the custom motion graphic template is in; I did not try anything else but at least I know this specific configuration does not export successfully. This is on Windows 10 with full hardware acceleration enabled on a GTX 1050 Ti. I have not tried it on my Mac nor with software encoding only.
Hi Blake, I have been unable to reproduce this on Win 10 (or on mac) using the H265 preset in AME and a 4K sequence. I set up my own media + Graphic with an animated opacity mask, so maybe there's something about your workflow I am missing.
If possible, I'd like to get a simple Project + Media from you that may repro the failure for me. If you are able to do that, please reply back here and I will contact you directly for steps and a way to get some files from you. Thank in advance.
Thank you for reporting this to us. And thank you for including screenshots, especially the one that shows what your ECP and Program Mon look like. That really helps me know what you're trying. I'm going to investigate this using my own Media and Graphics to see if I can get a local repro of it.
