Bug - Premiere Pro - mogrt with responsive design time created in AE not working in PPro
I created a mogrt with two protected areas (responsive design time) in AE 17.1.1. When put on the timeline in Premiere Pro (14.3), and expanded with the rate stretch tool, the protected areas are also extended in duration. The "reset duration" item on the "graphics" menu is grayed out.
That worked! I had read (or seen in a YouTube video) that the protected regions had to be in a precomp, which is why I put them one level down.
Thank you so much!
Thank you, Holly. I got your mogrt that time and I see what the problem is. You have added the Responsive Design -Time protected regions to the comp called "First Comp" which is nested one level down from the comp you are Exporting as Mogrt. You just need to move the protected regions up one level, so that they are applied to the comp called "Main". Export that as Mogrt and it should work.
Note that when you remove the Protected Region Markers from "First Comp", the no-handle blue regions will still be there in the "Main" comp. To get rid of those before making new regions, go to the Layer menu > Markers > Update Markers From Source.
I think the attach file process failed. It ran and ran and ran, until I finally cancelled it. Here's the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fmc4ag6pjhxg9zm/ForAdobeSupport.zip?dl=0
Thank you for your response. I don't see any attached file or a link to a zip file though.
Thank you both for responding, Dacia and James. I am attaching a zip file with the mogrt in question and a video of the mogrt being pulled into the timeiine, and trying to stretch it. The small white triangles are there on the mogrt. However, if you'll look at the mogrt in AE, you'll see the responsive design time areas on the precomp "First comp" and the main comp "Main". The mogrt is created from the "Main" comp.
If I extend (or rerduce) the "Main" comp in AE, the responsive design time areas correctly move but do not change in length.
I can certainly believe the fault is mine, but after searching for several days for an answer, I think I've got it set up correcty. One possible complicating factor - I am using a plugin "Pins and Boxes", and I haven't removed the "Pins and Boxes" expressions from the comp.
Just in case the file attachment doesn't work, here's a link to the zip file.
One more thought, Holly. Is it possible that the Mogrt you are using was not exported with Responsive Time? The fact that it won't stretch and that "Reset Duration" is not enabled points to it being a non-responsive time Mogrt.
When you put the Mogrt on the timeline does the track item have little white triangles in the corners like in this photo?
If so then it is not a Responsive Mogrt and will need to be re-exported from AE after Protected Regions are added to it.
Holly, if you're using an Ae Mogrt with Responsive Design - Time protected areas, you should use the arrow tool to trim it out or in in the timeline, rather than the rate stretch tool. However from your previous comment (on 6/29/20) I see that you're unable to trim the mogrt in Pr that way. If that is the case, can you please share the mogrt with me so I can open it and see where the problem might be?
Thank you, Ali. However, changing the length with the selection tool merely shortens the mogrt, dropping the ending animation completely, and the selection tool won't let the mogrt be lengthened.

Use the selection tool instead of rate stretch tool
