14.3.0 BETA makes my CPU fan run at full speed.
With the 14.3.0 beta once my CPU fan hit full speed it stays there. Closing Premiere Pro 14.3.0 does not help. I have to reboot my computer. Adobe 14.0 does not do it nor does DaVinci Resolve.
I have an i9 9900K
Gigabyte RTX 2070
32 GB of RAM
What, specifically, are you doing in PPro, when your fan hits full speed?
Are you actually working on a sequence? Looking at the Home screen? More specifics would help.
Yup, Windows 10 + Premiere Pro (any version, so far)
I had my system working with the beta version but with the latest release my system is messed up once again. If I run Premiere Pro for anymore than 5 minutes I get the same problems. That being said if I open Premiere Pro and do nothing for 2 minutes my system is OK. When I close Premiere Pro the CPU revs out. There is something wrong. Is it Windows and Premiere Pro?
Do you have a Gigabyte Motherboard with an Intel CPU? I do.
thanks for the feedback. Still though, this is a problem that's very particular to Premiere Pro. I literally just turn it on and in 20-30 seconds my fan speed is stuck at 100%, no matter what I do - even if I do nothing. So there's something within Premiere Pro that's making the fan speed get stuck, or is encumbering the CPU, raising its temperature, while not doing anything.
Either way, it needs to be addressed.
I have a Intel system and changing the CPU fan from Intel to Dynatron fixed the problem. I am not sure how wide spread the problem is with. Like you I always had to reboot and also like you after about 5 minutes of doing simple things the fan would rev at 100%.
Once I play a picture in picture and raise the fan speed it stay in high rev. Even after I close Premiere Pro. During render it will rev 100% as expected but it stays at full speed even after I close the program.
That being said I got a new CPU fan and now it works OK. It was just that beta version that did it.
Hello, I have the exact same issue, please advise. It usually happens when exporting, but it happens only with PR, and during the export the CPU is under no stress whatsoever, according to resource monitor. Even if it was, the fan speed just remains stuck at full speed after the export and does not slow down until I reboot. I'm not 100% sure it only happens during exports, but it definitely only happens while working in PR.
CPU usage never spikes higher than maybe 50% (I'm talking individual cores&threads) and the temperature never goes above 64 Celsius. And as I said, even if these mild spikes triggered a higher fan speed, there's no reason to maintain it ad perpetuum.
I tried fiddling with BIOS fan settings, but nothing I did there prevented the problem from reappearing.
Anyone have any information on this?
EDIT: I can now confirm this anomaly happens even when doing regular work in PR. I'm currently color correcting and the fan just started speeding up. It is now stuck at 100%. I'm using Lumetri Color, although I doubt that's the common denominator for this problem. CPU usage at 2%.
