What is going on? What's wrong with this software? Constant crashes and slow speed.
Hey there, I've been plagued with endless slow load times, miserably slow saves (taking up to 15 minutes just to save a project), and memory spikes using this software. That I pay for. I'm working on a TV show and don't have the time or patience to deal with Adobe's lack of effort here. There are updates to this software that come up more than once a month sometimes and yet severe bugs and serious media management issues are yet unresolved. 50% of the time I have a second, tiny project open and want to close it, keeping my second project open, it crashes. Or locks up for minutes at a time, sometimes over an hour. Just to close a project! Not to mention, when I quit Premiere it just lingers for an absurd amount of time. I always force quit at this point because I can't wait around while a lazily built software tries to close down. What is happening here? Why aren't these issues resolved? Can I get a few more months free for the hours of time you wasted?
Big issue: Clip markers make project files huge. This is true from 2019 - 2020, and maybe before that. If your project file is huge, try removing all clip markers, particularly from wav and mp4 files, and watch your project file go from 50MB to 1.3MB. This causes Premiere to run slow, save slow, and open slow. I can't even permenantly get rid of the clip markers! I keep removing them, saving, exporting a sequence as a project, but they come back! FIX THE CLIP MARKER ISSUE!!!!
Big issue 2: Sharing sequences and bins. Good lord. Something Avid has down, but you guys can't seem to figure out. I have thousands of project files at this point that I can't even keep in one Project because to gets too big and won't work. Not an issue on Avid MC. Something like sharing a bin or sequence should be instantaneous, not require dynamic linking to another project and painstakingly importing a sequence from it which always takes way too long even if the file is small. How is using thousands of project files efficient? Obviously you guys thought this through that editors and other users would be working with others and sharing work back and forth, right? I see you have shared projects now. Gee, thanks. It's a separate subscription. Why is it not included in CC? Don't you owe us a shared option after dragging us through all this media management nonsense? Why would anyone pay for something that other editing softwares do by default? We're not even getting our money's worth with Premiere Pro as it is. No one seems to give a darn about it.
Your support team via chat is laughable. I've had to solve 100% of my issues on my own. They don't know the software and don't edit. Just routine cleanup procedures. I had a support agent suggest I had too many sequences in my project. Well, you can't have too many sequences in Media Composer. Why is it a problem here? Too many sequences?!? It's a TV show! TV shows movies etc require a lot of media and sequences to stay organized and complete a product. I can't be keeping track of 100 ****** project files when everything I need should be in one place. They also said a 100MB project file isn't big. I'm sorry....what?! That makes it clear these aren't active users, so what help is support if they don't understand at the edit level? A huge 100MB project will take an eternity to load and save. Again, this stems mainly from Clip Markers. Fix it. Please.
And, a support agent told me that the latest version of Premiere 2020, I forget which version exaclty, was not working properly and would be fixed in the next update (May). Why, oh why, was a new version released without testing every single aspect of the software. Why would you release that? Is it becuase of the subscription stranglehold you have on us, as long as we pay month to month you don't care? There are plenty of sorftwares that function properly out there. Please remind my why Premiere was my favorite. In a lot of ways it is. But these constant crippling issues make it difficult to stay on board.
FIX THE CLIP MARKERS ISSUE!

I am in PP 2022, just upgraded because of the constant crashing in 2021. Now I have this problem... I go to save and it sits there. I'm on minute 8 of waiting for the progress bar to start. START.
There's not much point in doing the work if the program won't save it. And I can't work while I'm waiting for the save to happen.
So the fact this is labeled "not actionable" fails to recognize or understand that this is a very deep and catastrophic issue. We're all on deadlines. And you really aren't improving this product. Stability and usability over bells and whistles, that's what we're asking for. I have a lot of time to rant here because I'm STILL WAITING for my project to START saving.
