Reinstate DV capture to Premiere Pro!
Catalina (Mac OS) has nullified the DV capture setting for Premiere Pro. Editors need this feature desperately. Please bring it back. I have lots of old tapes I need to capture. Am I supposed use iMovie? We pay for these features. Please add them back.

I need. WE NEED. DV capture back in premiere. I work in an audiovisual archive institution and we have A LOT of Dv, DVCAM, documents waiting to be downloaded. I purchased Premiere pro in order to do dat. Please, we need an option. At least some special capture soft to have a workaround in this. Thanks.

I really need a working DV capture option in Premiere. So many editors still do, especially for any kind of archival video work.

The most recent update for MacOS is for Pro Video workflows and lists HDV on the codecs lists. Can someone confirm is this is relevant to compatibility for DV capture?

This is a huge blow to educators who are trying to teach their film/production students the basics of video capturing. Whether it's Adobe's or Apple's doing, this must be rectified. This is a major component of video editing.

We recently moved over to Premiere because it supported firewire. We have archive on DV tapes dating back to when the DV format was first introduced, surely it would be not that much of a problem to have DV on Catalina?

Adobe, don't forget your roots. Bring back DV Capture please. You have always been great with adding features but I never thought you'd start taking them away.

I never thought that this professional software would dump professional filmmakers who need to use DV capturing for their work. Shame!

Running into the same issue. Seems like everyone else is missing DV capture and neither Adobe or Apple are bothering to address it. What a disappointment! Guess I'll avoid upgrading software or equipment in the future.

Very annoying. I think a large draw to using Adobe software on Mac was the ease of use created by built-in thunderbolt/firewire and seamless integration with Premiere/other artistic software. I suppose Apple abandoning Firewire compatibility should've been a sign, but I trusted Adobe would pull through for the people who enjoyed the OS X ecosystem and have a need for using these "obsolete" formats. I guess they did for a few years
The solution is easy enough, switch to Windows and buy a Firewire PCI, where this is still supported. Just sad really, I hope they can fix it
EDIT: Just want to add that in some cases it seems like it is actually still possible to capture DV or HDV, on OS X Big Sur but only within certain parameters that make it seem almost like a glitch. Even in my own experience on PP2021 I've been able to scrub an entire tape but activating the capture breaks the program. It's obviously possible for them to fix this and there is literally no reason why they aren't other than relevance of the feature

PLEASE ADD BACK DV capture. I have 100 tapes to log and am going to have to use Quicktime.
