Stupid Relink Media Bug
Premiere version 14.1.0
Projects with BRAW footage (Autokroma plug-in) over OpenVPN (footage and project on server).
I moved this ongoing project over to a local drive (D:), with project and footage in the same folder structure.
When I open the project, it links with footage on the server. I don't want that. So I break the VPN and try to relink with local files. It does, but then every clip on the timeline is reset to an "in" point at the zero mark of the source file, effectively breaking the hole edit. I have tried different ways of relinking the footage (replace file, with and without align timecode checked, etc.) and I always have the same result.
I finally found a workaround: I had to export the project to Final Cut Pro XML. Then open that, and it relinked correctly. But I lost my folder structure in Premiere.
Weird, needless, stupid and frustrating bug.
Thank you Adobe! I can always count on you to waste 4h of my life for no reason.
