fix closed captions
It's 12:01AM and I would have been finished with my edit hours ago if it were not for the numerous bugs related to closed captions. I'll just list one here: edits in the captions are not reflected in the program monitor. I can create a new caption or change the timing of a caption, and it will not be shown when I play the video. I can delete words and the captions will not re-center themselves (okay, that's a separate bug, but worth mentioning here too). And sometimes the formatting is just completely wrong. The spacing will be too tight between lines and adjusting Line Spacing has no effect. These bugs have been in Premiere for years now from what I've read. Why are they not fixed by now?

This is NOT resolved. There are double caption layers in 608. Additionally, there is NO working preset that will allow EMBEDDING of the CC files. I have tried it on ALL MPG, MOV and MXF file formats. The MPG does not allow it at all. MXF and MOV "allows the option" but it doesn't work at all. One week ago before the update I WAS able to render out a MOV file without captions, then imported into FCP Compressor, added the SCC file and created a perfect MPG file for the broadcast stations. MXF in both AME and Compressor does not work. I believe that the problem is with the new PP Captions Tool.
Screen grabs are available on this thread.

Totally the same - I have spent HOURS on captioning things - like a whole DAY just to do a 20-minute video (and even then I have had to come back to it the next day). I have resorted to buying a caption editor, but when i reimport the file, the timings are all knocked out for some unknown reason. It's just a mess.
