BUG: Transitions don't reliably copy and paste
i don't know why i have to phrase a bug report like a feature request and have people vote on it. If there are bugs in the software (and there are many), the dev team should track and fix those bugs. Why are we voting on which bugs should get fixed?
Anyway, i keep experiencing this one with transitions.
i very frequently use a Wipe transition, with the Reverse box checked, the colour set to 0xFFFFFF, and the Border Width set to 24. It's extremely annoying to have to set these parameters every single time when i use this transition dozens of times in a project, but including those parameters in a preset is a separate request (which no one has voted for. This system is dumb. Have i mentioned that? $80 a month for this software.)
Very often, Premiere Pro refuses to copy one of these transitions to the clipboard, so i have to set it up fresh again and again, changing those three parameters i mentioned every single time.
The incident that prompted me to write this was that i selected my wipe transition, hit CTRL+C, positioned the playhead at the cut between two clips, selected the clips, and hit CTRL+V. The transition didn't paste.
i thought PPro wasn't "hearing" my keystrokes. So i selected the transition, went to the Edit menu, and clicked "Copy."
Once again, i positioned the playhead, and selected both clips . i went back to the Edit menu, but "Paste" was ghosted.
"Paste Insert" was available, so i clicked that, which just paste-inserted some clips i had copied way earlier.
So there's the bug. Your software, Premiere Pro, regularly fails to copy transitions to the clipboard. When does it happen? i don't know. But it's happening to me right now. Fix it or don't. You probably won't even see this bug report unless it gets votes. That's insane. Eighty dollars a month.
i'm about to click the "Post idea" button. This isn't an idea. This is a bug report.
Here's an idea: go fix the bug.
Can confirm Premiere regularly has issues with the clipboard, often retaining old data instead of replacing it with new data. When this happens you need to tab out, copy something else (to clear the clipboard) and come back in and then it works :(
