Premiere Pro performance suddenly tanks. I'm starting to think it's audio-related. I pray that I can recover *hours* of work.
Please prevent Premiere Pro from suddenly having horrible performance while I'm editing a video. This has happened three times now. Once I fortunately was able to export the 90 seconds of video I'd edited so far and salvage my work that way. Now I may lose more than 10min of footage in a different project.
It seems audio-related. From now on, I'm going to avoid recording voiceovers within Premiere Pro. That always seems to slow the project's performance down to a crawl - permanently. Reboots don't help. Now I experienced similar issues after silencing one of the channels on 3 clips in a sequence.

Can you add some more specifics, cause I can record voice overs locally and do not see this so it isn't a general issue, but there are many variables that I can't figure out from the text above.
Are you on Mac or Win? What kind of recording device are you using? Can you get a video of the Voice Over recording set up and post it somewhere that I can view it? Even a cell phone video could help.
One stab in the dark might be the audio hardware is messed up after enabling Voice Over. If you are in this "tanked" state, can you try setting "Preferences>Audio Hardware>Input..." to No Input and see if that helps?
There isn't enough actionable information in this post, more details would help.
