We do monitor User Voice; we share your disappointment that we don’t have a reproducible case, for this issue.
If you can reliably reproduce the ‘low level exception’ problem, on your system, please contact Support and provide them with any files and source media required for that repro case, as well as (important!) step-by-step instructions on how you can reproduce the issue.
We’re eager to pursue the issue further.

Same issue here. Couple of things to work around it as others have mentioned:
1) Use Software Rendering (File menu > Project Settings > General > Video Rendering and Playback > Mercury Playback Engine Software Only)
2) Rollback to version 14.0.3 - this is very easy in the latest CC app.
Adobe is aware it seems and says it's fixed in the next beta:
All of this is ridiculous. The amount of money I pay for this software and they can't properly test!!

Same problem appeared here today, after Premiere just updated: A low-level exception occurred in: Adobe Player (Player:5) and A low-level exception occurred in: Adobe Player (Player:76). Has Adobe updated it just to bring the error to more users, so that we don't feel excluded?

Same issue started out of the blue today for me 'A low-level exception occurred in: Adobe Player (Player:5)'. Have a project due ASAP for a client which I now can't finish.
Have tried resetting preferences, changing to 'Mercury Playback Engine Software Only' (which is far too slow to actually use), and uninstalling and reinstalling = none of the above has worked for me.

For the time being you can go into File > Project Settings > General and choose this option in the image attached. Playback is slow and it's not ideal but it doesn't close every 5 seconds at least. Adobe really need to fix this, had this problem since the update yesterday (14/04).

I got after downloading yesterday upgrade I got on premiere pro 2020: playback stop while playing on timeline and then display message: "A low-level excerption occurred in: Adobe Player (Player:5). So deleted last version version and re-installed the previous version. Adobe come on those bug may NOT occur when you launch new vesriosn.

Really tasty, yes, paying for a product that often brings anomalies with the repercussions on the job ... and an inefficient and slow service.
I will look for alternatives.
Meanwhile, I would begin to report in the assistance area, if I could find one for private-professional users and not large companies!
In finding one in Italian, I had already forgotten ...

No crash yet. but I get the same error message, and while rendering I also get
"Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Metal) (Accelerated Renderer2)
And Activity Monitor shows absolutely no GPU activity.
Really tasty. Ready to throw another 600 a year on this baby.
Best, as always,

SAME ISSUE. Can anyone please share how they solved this. I've flushed the cache, I've reset the preferences, I've even uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing is fixing it. This is paid work for a client. I need this to be fixed.
It's saying it's going to take over 3 HOURS to render my FIVE minute video. I'm not happy at all I will be researching other software to use from now on.

I've also been experiencing the "A low-level exception occurred in: Adobe Player (Player:5)" and it only popped up for me today. I have a mid-2015 15" Mac with macOS Catalina. Although my video isn't for a school or work project, this is still an inconvenience. I've had small minor issues with Premier in the past but they've been easy to fix myself. I have research possible solutions for this issue but it is still happening. I hope that this will be fixed ASAP.
Christophe Asselin commented
Last version is the worst ever with this bug happening every time if I don't disable GPU rendering. Also, other various freezes and crashes.
Also, huge memory leaks that make my PC crash and turn off.
I'll go and learn to use Davinci now.

Same issue but without crash (only monitor shows "media pending" on screen message) on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, PremierePro CC 2020, 14.0.4 build 18.
It started 30' ago, downloading new update version (14.1.0 build 116) on Adobe CC.
Now I am reinstalling the previous version (the 14.0.4) in order to continue working.
This in very regrettable.

Same issue April 10 2020, Windows 10, Surface Book 2, Adobe CC Premier Pro 2020. Why is this still an issue? The program crashes constantly when using the pen tool for masking. I can't finish my project. Also started for me about a week or two ago.

What Version of Premiere Pro are you running? 14.0.3 seemed to fix this for me. (On Windows)

Same issue. Windows 10 Pro. Premiere CC 2020. It only started about 2 weeks ago for me. Not sure what changed. This is very debilitating.
