With Premiere Pro 14.0.3, it has been changed back to the existing functionality of previous versions of PPro (eg: 13.1.5 and earlier). ie: Trim shortcuts will trim clip Edit Point and Not move the Playhead.
Based on feedback, it was best to roll back the changes to keep our long-standing behavior, until we can come up with a better solution.

Make it a feature to have the CTI jump to an edit point when trimming backward/forward! This was a forced change that doesn't sit well with many users!!!

Using the shortcuts for Trim Forward/Backward or Extend Selected Edit to Playhead will no longer go into Trim Mode in Premiere Pro 14.0.1 (just released).
For the Trim Forward/Backward shortcuts, it will remain in the view that you were in and the Playhead will now follow the trim (what was intended in 14.0 changes).

You could improve PP by responding to your **** official bug boards! This is beyond frustrating and the fact that it took Trent Happel two months to respond to this is indicative of how much they give a **** about their customers. If my employer wasn't invested in Adobe suite, I'd jump ship immediately.

Going into Trim Mode when using Extend Selected Edit Point to Playhead or Trim Forward/Backward shortcuts is an issue being investigated and the hope is to address ASAP.

Automatically jumping into the trim mode in the program monitor when I perform the "extend edit to playhead" shortcut has really disrupted my workflow. I now must click off of the edit point before hitting the spacebar to continue playing forward (not conducive to my current muscle memory). Doesn't sound like a lot of work, but when compiling b-roll "selects" reels, it really adds up in wasted time.

This is extremely annoying and makes fluid editing impossible. Why this change? It worked great in 2019. It is a mess now in 2020.

Yes - fix this! There is no purpose to it and it is making me seriously consider leaving Adobe for Blackmagic. That no one from Adobe is responding to this is depressing.

This is driving me crazy and waisting a bunch of time on my edit. Might have to go back to 2019...

This is the most frustrating change in workflow. This makes editing completely INACCESSIBLE for non-mouse editors. We all switched back to 2019, please fix this!

Can't agree more with the above remarks. Fundamentally changes the workflow in one of the biggest ways.
