Better marker usability
As a professional editor, there's some big functionality missing with markers. When I use Shift M and Shift Ctrl M to move between them, regardless of whether they are timeline or clip markers, the label does not pop up when the play head is on it. Instead, to see the label I have to hover my cursor over it still. I find this to be the same when looking at the timeline via the program monitor or the clip via the source monitor. There is no toggle to have the labels pop up when a marker is selected. (The work around is having the marker panel open and making sure "Selection follows playhead" is NOT selected under Sequence up top. Otherwise the playhead will select the clip when moving through the timeline and look at markers on the individual clip not the timeline)
Secondly, there is currently no way to copy sequence markers onto the clip below. This means if I lay out a bunch of stuff on a timeline, log it using timeline markers, but then decide I want to move the clips around and want to keep the notes associated with the clips without always having to worry about copy and pasting the sequence markers as well I have to create new markers on the clips one by one. There should be a simple copy and paste function to save a tone of time, especially when dealing with TONS of markers.
Thirdly, in the Marker panel there is no way to change the view of the thumbnails/marker titles. This is much different when compared to the project panel where you can have humongous thumbnails or just text details. I do intv. intensive projects where the content notes are more important not what the video looks like at the marker. I would rather just have the title of the marker listed and more titles shown in the panel.
Fourthly, with the Marker panel thumbnails as they are they cut off the title of the marker after 16 characters. Even if you stretch the panel lengthwise it only makes the 'comments' box larger not the title box with the in and out points. I can't see the title of my marker in the panel when moving through them! The only workaround is writing the title in the 'comments' box so you can see it properly. Not very clean and should be fixed.
I'm a big PP fan and have enjoyed seeing this program grow and compete with the old guard, excited to see you make these improvements and get your marking up to par. Thank you for listening.
