Playback issues with latest updates of everything
When updates are proposed, I usually perform them. I recently updated to the latest versions of CC as well as the latest version of Mac OS (10.14.6).
I am now finding that playback on any type of material has become stuttering. I tried cleaning cache and things like that, but the problem stays.
Does anyone experience similar effects?
I have a Mac Book Pro from early 2015 with Intel Core i7, 2.5 GHz, 16 Gb RAM and a graphical card Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB.
Thanks for any feedback!
Actually, I tried version 13.0.1 now, in stead of the latest version 13.1.3 ? This version (13.0.1) seems not to show the behaviour I was experiencing with the latest version. I will do some more tests to be sure.

Are you able to demonstrate a difference in processor usage in identical projects in version 13.1.4 and 12.1.2?
Hi Kevin. thanks for your comment. I understand what you are saying. However, I have been using this computer just fine until now. The same material that was not causing trouble before is suddenly causing trouble. So, it feels like another trick by Apple or Adobe, or both, that they update the system software and then suddenly the computer cannot handle it no more and you go spend 3K on a new one.
Proxy method is an option which I would not like to go into, so much trouble transcoding everything (which also takes a lot of time).
Hmmmm. Perhaps I will try to go back to an earlier version of the OS.

Your computer is probably out of date and needs an update. Try the proxy workflow and let us know if that works for you. Use ProRes Proxy, not H.264
