Here's how I did it using force close via Activity Monitor.
1. Open Activity Monitor from Launchpad
2. Go to CPU tab and look for "dvaaudiofilterscan" then double click on it
3. Select "Quit" button then confirm "Force quit" again.
4. You will still see the dvaaudiofilterscan plugin on the dock tab, dont worry, just right click on it > Options > Show in Finder
5. Once the finder folder is opened, Delete the file.
6. And you are done.
Let me know if it works with you. :)
I finally solved it! Open the dvdaudiofilterscan in the finder (click on the app in the dock and chose that option). Once opened, click with two fingers to open the menu and select "Show folder content". Once opened, delete everything in that folder. After that, hard reset you're Mac. Turn it on again. There you go. Peace out.
i hate this ****, supper irritating... everytime i'll have to do force quit.
Also having this problem. Incredibly irritating.

This really needs to be addressed. I've deleted my preferences SO MANY TIMES!!!
Its a Real Pain in the A! Lame !
same problem, super annoying, any resolution???
Add me to the list of people who have this problem. Though I find that if I force quit, then remove from dock, it does go away.
but why is it there in the first place? very fishy indeed.

Im no MAC expert but you all have tried CMD+ALT+ESC to force quit the program? Also on my laptop when I go to the dock and press CTRL+RIGHT CLICK im given a drop down. Inside the options tab I found the option to remove from dock.
Hoping for a response soon. Really annoying
Plz fix. We all are having the same issue. We can’t shut down our MacBooks
Anyone got the answer? Annoying!!
