Restore MKV Format Support
Removing MKV Format support has a negative impact on the workflow of people that work with broadcasting software like OBS. Restore MKV support. Having native support for MKVs, even if they don't edit well without generating proxies, saves me a ton of time that I'd otherwise have to spend remuxing/transcoding files.

I gave up on Adobe many months ago after having exchanged emails with Abhi Singh. I now use LosslessCut as my goto converter. Simple and quick, but agreed I shouldn’t have to take this extra step.
IMHO, Adobe and in particular Abhi Signh have done a poor job on this topic. At the very least, they should communicate their intentions. This is happening more and more with Adobe on many of their products. Going for the least common denominator rather than the users who put them on the map.

Horrible not to have MKV which is a standard format. You should be ashamed.

Would love support back. A common format for 4k that doesn't take a billion gig.

I do not know why Adobe did not add the MKV format to their softwares I wish in the next updates it would be possible.

+1 for mkv support. It's ridiculous that such a popular container format isn't included with Adobe.

I'm at a complete loss for words. How could Adobe not support such a ubiquitous format? Unfortunately, I can't do anything I need with media encoder now.. thanks.

Thanks for the feedback Gudny ! Could you explain to us by email what is your precise issue with the video insertion ? https://www.autokroma.com/contact

Hey guys.
I've tried the Autokroma codec beta thingy. So far I've been able to import mkv to Media Encoder without issues.
As for Premiere Pro, if I add an mkv clip to an existing timeline, it'll only insert the video.
So instead I create a new timeline from the mkv file and use that one or copy-paste from there.Despite this minor issue, I think this is a good solution until Adobe adds their own native support for mkv.
Hope this helps someone. :)
