Restore MKV Format Support
Removing MKV Format support has a negative impact on the workflow of people that work with broadcasting software like OBS. Restore MKV support. Having native support for MKVs, even if they don't edit well without generating proxies, saves me a ton of time that I'd otherwise have to spend remuxing/transcoding files.

Angelo, couldn't connect on the dropbox because of 2 Factor Authentification. However you can just "share a link" with dropbox and anyone with the link will be able to download it !

Antoine, i've made a quick 7 second clip from my phone. its about 50MB. Hi-res Audio, 4k, 60fps, MKV. How do upload the clip? I can't attach it.
I've done a bit of study. Most containers cant handle the various audio technologies, apart from MKV and encoding to other formats seems to cause audio issues. Which ill try myself.
After analyzing my clip, I'm interested in your opinion Antoine.
Eric, i've tried what you suggested. No Joy. Playback always worked. But proxies and exporting in MKV seems impossible.

Just spent the last few hours+ trying to understand why I couldn't create proxies with 4k 60fps footage from my phone.
Reason the phone changes the format when using Hi-res Audio to MKV! When using 3D-audio the format is mp4.Come on Abode, can't you see your loosing out, by not supporting a format used by millions devices!
I don't want to spend the time re-encoding and I'm not sure exactly how that would affect the Audio.
Nice one Eric, I'll give that a go.

Am doing a massive found footage project, with 800 feature films in MKV. Working on the older version and then switching to Resolve permanently, removing features is a complete joke Adobe.

I record a bunch of gameplay videos with OBS, which, by default, exports to MKV. The feature was added in 2018, but was removed a year later. I don't want to have to remux my recordings to MP4 every time I record a gameplay video.
Many others are begging for it too. MKV is a container format, and OBS by default exports in H264. Removing support in 2019 was unnecessary and detrimental.

Add .mkv video file support. Its a waste of time to convert .mkv to another format before importing it into premiere pro.

Bro wtf. Support MKV, you cowards.

Just bought a monthly subscription only a couple hours ago and of course, the main file format I enjoy working with and prefer overall is no longer supported! Way to go, Adobe. Once this month is up, I'll probably be canceling my subscription to look elsewhere for other editing software that's actually capable of doing what I need it to do.

Would love to see MKV format in Premiere Pro! Waiting for videos to convert to an importable format is such a waste of time, resources and energy. Switching away from MKV would be tedious, because if the capture session crashes, all data would be lost.

This is dumb. You need to support the MKV format. It is used for live stream backups over other formats due to it's fault tolerance.

I'm a paying customer and I guess I'm going to have to resort to piracy to use an older version lmao

Thank you Eric Victory, saved me hours with a number of projects where I was recorded in OBS and had been doing voice-over work, etc and just needed a nice intro to them all before publishing before MVK was removed from my version of PP (not sure how I managed to use them up until very recently).
I did as Eric suggested, Duplicate the ImporterMPEG.prm and rename ImporterMKV.prm in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CC 2019\Plug-Ins\Common
My MKVs are now back to normal. Now to quickly complete these projects while I have access!
