More caption problems - I am shocked at how bad it is!? Is this the quality of Adobe?
Probably no Adobe employee will so this, since the captions are NEVER fixed, but here it goes:
Captions in Premiere is pathetic. I know, I have been using it for a few years.
Even trying to work around the bugs is impossible.
Since we cannot control the spacing of the lines between the captions I have tried this:
I duplicated the caption to have different one for the second line (for when it is needed), only to find out that both caption files are still connected.
Making changes to one, traverses to the other, regardless of them being completely different files!!!
IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!

I would urge anyone on this page, particularly Adobe people, to check out captioning in Resolve. It works brilliantly. Please, just copy it.
I've got to the point where I now do my final captioning in Resolve rather than Premiere and it is so much less stressful.

Duplicating caption at project level and changing duplicate will
a. Change the ‘marker’ in the clip
b. Not change the actual subtitle until PP is restarted
Also, what format of Captions are you using? Doing two layers of Captions will create two streams and that is not a recommended workflow.
Sorry to hear you are having a hard time with captions. If you send me the project, no media needed, I'll take a look.
