Look at the Audio Level Meter
The audio meter is not giving me accurate level readings. When I play a file that is close to clipping, it will show that the file is clipping. When I stop it and play it again, no changes made, it will read -5 db gain. I'm getting a terrible mix because of it. Is there a common user error that causes the meter to be this inaccurate?

I have the same problem, and it is like a joke in accuracy. Audition does a much better job on accurate audio read-out. I doubt an accurate readout steals so much processor power that the realtime video will suffer from it? Feels more like it's sloppy done, and no one ever fixed it.
