Fix endless play back bug when in multicam editing
Premiere Pro 2018 CC when in multicam editing will not stop playing when we press either the space bar or stop button in the program monitor. It just keeps playing until it decides to stop. Very frustrating and wastes time. This was also going on in earlier versions. I think its been about 3 years and it still has not been fixed. Checked Google and others have same issues but no fixes yet. Common Adobe there must be a simple fix for this. Thanks.

I used to run big iron workstations, Avid|DS being my every day tool, unfortunately discontinued. The support we had was truly top notch, even when I was not on Avid Support. We, the users were listen to and our problems, as a community were worked on.
Now I can be like my father and say I miss the good old days...
Had to replace the tool to keep working, now this is where we stand.Like all the above I've been having this problem.
Really not what we want to have with client attending sessions.
We do multicam on over 85% of the projects, tried all solutions online, stills keeps having the problem. If this is a real issue that can be related to corrupted clips, wouldn't it be nice to have a tool inside the Adobe package that can scan and output the culprit file / project / etc?
HP Z840 Workstation, Dual 12-core Intel XEON CPU E5-2650, 32GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro M4000, internal RAID5 storage, AJA Kona 4, all the bells and whistles.
Win 10 64bit, latest nvidia drivers, updated OS and CC.Cheers for all, peace for Ukraine

Still happening in V22 - both on 2018 macbook pro and 2019 Mac Pro. Editing in multicam mode with only 3 1080p ProRes LT files. This should be a breeze! Please fix!

Same issue. Very frustrating! I don't mind lagging, as long as I'm still in control of the sequence. When it wastes my time by continuing to run and not giving me immediate control, it makes editing almost unbearable.

This is happening still in 2021 (15.2.0 (B 35)). In fact, it wasn't happening for me in 2020 release and only started happening again after upgrading to 2021.

For me, this seemed to begin after the most recent upgrade to CC2020 version 14.3.1. I'd click on the stop button but it would keep playing for several seconds or even up to a minute. The cursor wouldn't move, the scene wouldn't change, but the music track kept playing?????
One other oddity, I was unable to open After Effects while Premier Pro was open. Same thing in reverse; if After Effects was open, then Premiere Pro would not.
My solution was to revert back to the previous version, 14.3. It works as it should now on all accounts.
Strange load of "problems" we put up with as we pay to use this.... -

Uninstalled Premiere/Media Encoder, reinstalled. Sequence began to edit smoothly, but about 3-5 minute in to a 25 minute sequence it started again. Just running and running. Had to switch to Resolve. If you haven’t tried their multi cam mode it’s pretty similar.

Same here. Refuses to stop playback, for up to a minute.

Same issue with here, after it HAD been playing back smoothly. Editing 1080/MP4 clips (no, proxy files make no difference).
Absolutely crippling. Downloading Davinci Resolve to try their multi-cam mode.

The only fix I've seen is by bypassing the UI and calling the play-stop command directly. Some third party editing tools can do this, such as what I'm using the Loupedeck CT. It just sucks that I have to use a third party hardware peripheral to make the program work.

I have the same issue but with single cam. I've reset preferences, reboot...it's random, sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. I'll try to click stop and it just keeps on playing for as long as it wants.

I am having the same issue. I will be playing an edit and hit stop only to hear the audio keep going. It doesn't stop. I am editing 4k but using the proxy files. I can't get any editing done when I can't get the video to stop to edit. I typical have to force quit the app and relaunch only to see it happen again. Why is this bug not fixed yet? I am using Premiere Pro CC2020 v14 on a Mac Pro Mohave 2 x 3.46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 128 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory and Radeon RX 580 8 GB graphics. I pay good money to use cloud, but if I can't get any work done, I'm losing money. Please stop making unnecessary versions and just fix the bugs. Anyone have suggestions?

Also having the same problem but in standard editing mode without multicam.
Running a PC with the latest I9 Processor, 32gb RAM, and a GTX 6gb 1060, with the project running off a 5000mbps solid state drive. It should be absolutely humming yet it doesn't stop playback and then flickers and glitches a bit when it reaches the end of the time line!

Still an issue on CC2020, this really needs sorting. Issue on iMac, MacBook Pro, Windows PC etc etc etc

Please fix this. Playback often refuses to stop and the only work-around I've found is to unplug my ASIO sound device to get it to pause.

Same here. No way to stop the playback in Multicam prjects on Win10. (CC 2020)
It's driving me nuts! Edits take at least twice as long. I cant tell my clients that?!I really dont want to switch but such things are going to force me to do that...
Get your bugs fixed Adobe. Please.

I'm losing my mind with this!! Is there any fix that has worked, no amount of workspace resetting has helped.

I just had to do a multicam edit last night and it probably took twice as long as it should have because of this. There doesn't appear to be any workaround at all, you just have to wait until it decides to stop by itself. Totally unacceptable bug as it's constant. It makes multicam unusable.
