Typekit fonts not working with captions
So far I have only seen this problem on Windows, and not OS X.
In the caption editor, Typekit fonts show up in the list of available fonts, but when you go to use them, the actual font doesn't change.
Sometimes the text simply disappears in the Program Monitor. If you revert back to a standard font set, the text reappears.
It doesn't seem to matter if you restart the program, or even the computer. Change font weights doesn't do anything either with the problem fonts.
Please note that Typekit fonts work if you use the regular Type tool, but not at all if you're using captions.
I have tried two separate Windows systems, and both are showing the exact same issue. Both have had fresh installations of the software put in place, and I have also cleared preferences on both. No luck so far.
The current Windows system that is showing this issue is:
HP ZBook Studio x360 G5
Windows 10 Pro (1809)
Nvidia Quadro P1000 (430.39)
16 GB RAM
Premiere 13.1.2 (Build 9)
However this has been tested on at least two Windows systems, with the same results. Again, this problem doesn't appear to show in OS X.
If you would like me to check/test anything else, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Almost 2021 and this is still an issue. Had to export on my old (and slow) Macbook.
Please fix this Adobe!

Still same problem with "Brandon Grotesque" in 2020... a long while after your original post. So now using my small macbook to export my edits... takes for ever but works.
Nobody has found a better work around this ?

Hey there Melissa,
Sorry to hear that you're running into this as well. I really do wish that I could say that I've figured out some work around, but nope, things are just as broken as they were before.

I'm having the exact same issue, using Proxima Nova typekit
