It would be great to be able to increase the size of the audio waveforms on the timeline -- without actually changing the gain-- so that you canuse the waveform display to fine cut dialog. Easier to spot actual ends of words like hard "t" etc. if the waveform is bigger.

I assume changing the track height is not what you are looking for? Also, have you tried playing with logarithmic scaling and rectified audio waveforms in the timeline burger menu (sequence tab three lines next to the sequence name)? Do any of those options make it easier?

I zoom in on the timeline when I'm cutting specific sounds from a clip. Zooming in to the waveform of a few words, as well as expanding the audio track height, gives me a really good look at what I'm hearing.
Does this not work for you?
