Display audio track and video together in the source monitor
Displaying audio tracks and video together in the source monitor would save a lot of time when scrubbing through source footage to find the moments when the talent starts speaking. Currently I toggle the source monitor to display the audio tracks, set my IN and return back to video view.
Attached is a Photoshop mock-up of my ideal.
Definitely a great time saver!
Thanks for creating a mockup and for the productive conversation in the comments, we’re going to take a closer look at implementation details next.

Love this idea.

Completely agree. I had been working this way in Resolve, and it's one of the biggest things I miss after picking up Premiere. I would add the ability to set multiple duration markers in the way that Resolve handles the source editor, which allows you to effectively set multiple in/out points in a single source clip, name them, and then pull them into your timeline as needed (a huge time saver when you're working on interview clips and want to pull several comments from a single source clip).
Definitely needed. Flabbergasted it is not there....
A waveform in the effects control volume would help as well
This would be helpful.

goed idee :-)
I have wanted this for years
This would be a big time saver. Maybe if the source waveforms could be in their own window then we could place them wherever we liked.
