please add mp3 import ... that doesn't skipping around randomly
Isn't it strange that it's the end of 2018. The latest version of Premiere Pro is named 2019... But Adobe has no idea how to import mp3 files reliably?
Sometimes it works splendidly. I just pick the file. Import it and it plays back and renders just fine.
Then... at a seemingly random date and time... Premiere decides to totally freak out over mp3 files in particular. The very same files I had no problem with before is now imported all garbled. It's like it's been put into a blender and random bits at random times are moved around like shuffled cards. And the resulting sound clip in premiere is totally unusable because not only does it jump around the file randomly it also fills the second half of the file with silence...
Why does Premiere see fit to freak out over this? I don't know. It probably is tied to moon phases or something, because I have not been able to reliably predict when or why it happens.
So I go into the cache files. I click the clean cache button. I go into the cache folder. I delete everything. And sometimes Premiere calms down for a while and I can import the mp3 file as expected....
until the next time it's time to freak out. And I have to do it all over again.
Why? How is it that the very same file gets such random results? Sometimes no problem. Sometimes scrambled and length is halved and appended with silence...
Googling gives me the info that this has been an ongoing bug since at least 2017... is noone working on this?!
