Support Blackmagic RAW
Please add support for Blackmagic RAW .BRAW files as soon as possible! This would be a tremendous help to our workflow! .BRAW was released today: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicursaminipro/blackmagicraw
Thanks for all the feedback. It’s pretty clear that we’ve got to look into the workflow using this format more closely, there are enough reports about gaps at this point to reopen this item. I’ll post more info about next steps shortly. In the meantime, a couple of questions are easy to answer:
- The plugin is designed for Premiere Pro. It currently doesn’t provide support for After Effects.
- It does work with AME, so if you want to use it for batch processing, that’s very doable
- If you’ve started a project with Autokroma, there’s no easy way to transfer it to be running with the new plugin.
We need BRAW for PP! How hard can it be ?

Looking into it? For over a year? You are NOT looking into it... you are stalling!!!

Adobe, it's been almost a year since you were "looking into it". What is going on? Simply put, you're losing loyal customers who do not want to leave. However, we have deadlines that must be met and are being forced to switch to other programs. It's great that Autokroma is here to save your bacon since they've developed plug-ins for PP and ME. Is this Adobe's plan? Force third parties to solve these problems for you?

Hi everyone, we just updated BRAW Studio to version 1.6.0 with BMPCC6K support ! Update for free on https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/Changelog/
To the below... Because of dynamic link and the expectation that a video editing workflow will have access to Photoshop et al

Why stay with Adobe? I know the switch can be intimidating but Resolve is making it easier with every update. And you're not going to find a better program for coloring your footage. We can save a ton of money and get behind a company that actually cares and listens to their customers requests instead of sitting on their thumbs for almost a year.

Hello adobe can you hear us. Please add support for Black Magic Raw or I will stop using Adobe eventually...I am already learning davinci but to be honest I prefere premiere and have been using it for 5 years now. If you force me to learn another editing software I won't be coming back...
Amusingly I contacted adobe to cancel my creative cloud subscription a few weeks ago because they didn’t support braw. After a reasonable and fair discount, I was advised to get a new camera. Better sell those ursa mini pros and pocket 4ks then lol

Here, I've taken the opportunity to 'look into the matter' for you: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/latest-download/braw-sdk/windows
(Hint: It's a download link for the Free Blackmagic Raw SDK for Windows. Gasp! They also have versions of their SDK for Mac and Linux! Well I'll be!)

Guys, quit the corporate politics about supporting Blackmagic or not. Premiere is a very intuitive and easy-access tool integrated in a very comprehensive Suite. So the more codecs you support, the more customers you'll have. Stop looking too high-level and come back down to customers reality. And in this case, the reality is that the BPMCC 4K and soon 6K are going to be VERY popular among filmmakers. So if you miss supporting their codec, you'll lose market share.... and yes, sometimes, it is as simple as that...

Hello, BRAW? adobe is lame
Hmm, I think Blackmagic may be winning. First, it has been 8 months since Patrick Palmer said they are "looking into this matter." Blackmagic Design provides an SDK to support BRAW. Heck, even a 3rd party company was able to produce and sell a module for Adobe Premiere Pro to support BRAW. I would like to hear Adobe's excuse of missing this ball. Second, Blackmagic Design includes a free copy of DaVinci Resolve with their cameras, which is a lot cheaper than Premiere Pro will ever be. Blackmagic Design is obviously in business to make a difference. Third, these cameras are so popular that the factories can barely keep up. A lot of people are waiting in line for them. Next, BRAW is fantastic, and for the price to play, it is a hell of a deal. When I am shooting video that counts, it is BRAW all the way. My next camera will likely be a Blackmagic Ursa Mini. They have convinced me that they are serious.
What's up? Why is Adobe missing this ball? Could the future of Adobe in the video market be compared to CP/M, and perhaps will Shantanu Narayen be the next Gary Kildall...the CEO who screwed this one up? I guess we will see. Imagine having the life long reputation for missing this ball.

So... I am using the BMPCC4K and only shooting BRAW. I have the full Adobe suite of applications and Have started to learn the DaVinci Resolve program to edit the BRAW. REALLY would prefer to stay with Adobe... PLEASE give us an update that handles BRAW. Thank you.
Adobe, can we please have some updates / more information on this? It would be nice to know whether support for braw is coming soon or if it's unlikely so I can make the leap to Resolve properly. I'm currently hanging on to premiere but I feel it's futile.
Why isn’t it supported yet?

We can speculate all day long about what ‘looking into this matter’ actually means but the bottom line is your communication around this issue has been really bad. We do pay a lot of money, we’ve taken our time to contribute to this forum with a very reasonable and actionable request and you’ve provided no update since the 12th December 2018- do you think that’s acceptable?
The other thing I’d like to emphasise is that we are not asking for a very minor or cosmetic modification- this really fundamental to our workflow. It will save us a truly significant amount of time, it would improve our results- these 2 things are all we really care about this is why we are so frustrated. I just don’t understand why you can’t update us- you’ve had plenty of time to do so. It seems as though you’ll only be prompted into action through broader, negative PR??
It’s not that difficult, just PLEASE...
Talk to your customers!!

I love your subscription and pay that 600 dollars a year because I want all the updates right away. This is the most important update. Please make it happen by September. I mean DeVinchi is free but I don't want to learn another editing program but I have 2 black magic cameras so thinking about the switch.
Are you looking into this matter? Are you really?
Sean McNally commented
Awesome that Autokroma has made a plugin that does this, and I'm sure it's great...but frankly, I'm paying for a subscription to creative cloud here, I shouldn't have to pay for an extra plugin just so native footage from my camera works in PP.
