Support Blackmagic RAW
Please add support for Blackmagic RAW .BRAW files as soon as possible! This would be a tremendous help to our workflow! .BRAW was released today: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicursaminipro/blackmagicraw

Thanks for all the feedback. It’s pretty clear that we’ve got to look into the workflow using this format more closely, there are enough reports about gaps at this point to reopen this item. I’ll post more info about next steps shortly. In the meantime, a couple of questions are easy to answer:
- The plugin is designed for Premiere Pro. It currently doesn’t provide support for After Effects.
- It does work with AME, so if you want to use it for batch processing, that’s very doable
- If you’ve started a project with Autokroma, there’s no easy way to transfer it to be running with the new plugin.

In 2 days it will be a year since this format was released. Adobe is staging it's heels and leaving it's users behind the curve in terms of being at the cutting edge.
Also not since December (over 9 months) has Adobe even bothered to comment. Everyone here need to think about how much money we have spent on Adobe in that time.
What a poor effort from a once great company.

Please support this important new format.
Disregarding this codec will drive more users to DaVinci Resolve.

Why do we bother commented
Black Magic have even now release a 2nd camera BRaw, firs came out on the Ursa (before BMPCC 4K was released), Then there was a wait for BRaw to come out on the BMPCC 4K, now there has even been a new Model a 6k BMPCC and still Adobe is dragging their feet.
This i now beyond a joke. "Looking in to the matter" is not doing anything. how about some action or an update, or anything to show that you care about your users.
The Autokroma extension is fantastic, by the way, but but adobe should support this format.
Still waiting (For more than a year) to hear some positive news

I have been a supporter of adobe since the cs2 suite...and dabbled in it before that. I remember when RED was working on the Epic, adobe released a beta plugin so people beta testing the camera could edit in premiere, when apple and avid refused to release functionality for RED in final cut and avid....It was this kind of forward vision that convinced me to switch every studio I consulted with from final cut 7 to premiere.
I now look at this situation with blackmagic raw and how long we have waited for support in AE and premiere, and I feel like that go-getter attitude that I saw in adobe that excited me, is gone.My confidence is shaken in adobe, many are switching to resolve to edit, and I dont want to, but I am not seeing much of an option...
Please change my mind...

Some users of BRAW Studio noticed some lags with latest 1.6.0. Please update to 1.6.1 ! https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/Changelog/
Also after seeing Ross troubles, we updated our F.A.Q. with manual uninstall just in case : https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/User_Guide/#How-do-I-uninstall-BRAW-Studio
But we double checked and our installer should work fine -
Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented
Hi Ross,
You can uninstall BRAW Studio by going through the installer and ticking the Uninstall BRAW Studio checkbox. It will uninstall even if it's written 'install successful'
If it didn't work here's the process to do so manually :
Delete "Autokroma BRAW Studio" folder in :
(Windows) C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\
(Mac OSX) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/Delete folders named "com.autokroma.brawStudioPanelHidden" and "com.autokroma.brawStudioPanelVisible" in this folder :
(Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions
(Mac OSX) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensionsBRAW Studio shouldn't interact with PPro other than your crash issue and there is no need to reset preferences. The Adobe employee who helped you only followed a common procedure he repeats with all issues.
We'll test again the uninstall checkbox to see if there's any issue with it.

BRAW Studio by https://aescripts.com/ just really screwed up my premiere.
Paid $30 Installed and reinstalled the plugin to no luck.
Constant crashed. Then all of my projects (those non BRAW) started to play up and i got spinning wheels of death on every movement within premiere.
I had to have adobe remote access to try and solve the issue. They had to reset all preferences / clean all cache and do a few more internal things to resolve, i finally did another uninstall of BRAW (not that it was even installed anymore) to do a final cleanup and it seems to have finally got rid of the issue. 3 days later....

Yes, this feature is really necessary. The Autokroma plugin is CPU only, so the performance is quite poor. The BMD SDK includes support for GPU processing, so it appears there’s some kind of limitation to Premiere’s plugin API. Adobe really needs to simply support BRAW natively. Relying on a third party plugin simply isn’t cutting it.

Markus,
I don't think BM had a choice in ditching cDNG as there was a dispute with RED. However, they released an SDK for BRAW on day one, so it's pretty obvious which company is playing politics.

Markus Strömqvist commented
There is obviously politics at work here, BM needs to be taught a lesson for ditching cDNG, and we as consumers are stuck in the middle. However learning from history, if you don't listen to your customers you will eventually go out of business.
I like and use the CC lineup, but patience is running out even for me.
