Support Blackmagic RAW
Please add support for Blackmagic RAW .BRAW files as soon as possible! This would be a tremendous help to our workflow! .BRAW was released today: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicursaminipro/blackmagicraw
We’re delighted to let you know that high performance support for Blackmagic RAW is now available for Premiere Pro.
Download plugin with Blackmagic RAW 1.5 here:
I installed the plug in yet it still does not recognized braw files.
The plugins are not compatible between them and it's a BMD plugin bug. You can't open old projects created with BRAW Studio.
It seems out of our hands, but we will study this nonetheless and keep you up to date
same here! installed it to try it out and now all the braw footage is black and red bars.
I have the Autokroma plugin and after installing BRAW 1.5 I'm finding I can no longer see my footage in Premiere but am instead getting red and black bars. I'm assuming having the two just isn't compatible? So which one do I use (Antoine, you've been great, and already have my money which was very worth it, so would love your input on this). I should note that once deleting braw 1.5 again it seems to go back to normal.
Yes you can ! Please read our article about it https://autokroma.com/blog/Introduction-to-BRAW-Studio/
You shouldn't use Presets but we already made copy paste possible.
Please tell us if it doesn't work
Antoine, is it possible to make Autokroma BRAW Studio give us the functionality to copy paste BRAW settings when pasting attributes to another clip?
What's missing in BMD / BRAW Studio plugins ? Give us your opinion here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfjLYch8EKPFzI44hzX2upzZfHUmOQ6Ee6jefnRfay3xB8PLA/viewform
We're here to improve your workflows in the future
As a subscriber I still expect Adobe developers to provide BRAW native support that is GPU accelerated - at some point! This is not a resolved issue, it is another plug in along the lines of Autokrama that Adobe are thankful for and leaping on to claim 'progress'.
Patrick, wow! You do exist!
Seriously, Thank you for responding. You don't know how much it means to just hear a voice that shows you actually care.
Seriously, Thank you.
We need this for AFTER EFFECTS.
Please. Whatever your current relationship is with Blackmagic Design in the development of this plugin, or whether you develop it natively, please make it possible to export and dynamically link to After Effects.
That's all I want. I think that's all any of us want.
Again, I sincerely thank you for responding.
Good to hear from you and thanks for acknowledging the lack of communication- it’s annoying. Please be more responsive in future.
1. What are the plans for after effects? (this is a critical matter for our business).
2. Is this a short-term fix while you develop your own, native, solution or are you satisfied that this plugin meets customer needs?
And finally just to explain why ‘native’ is important to me- I’d like adobe to take ownership of this functionality. We pay for a lot of money for the CC subscription over the years and I strongly believe that this responsibility sits with adobe- maybe you disagree. I want to know that Braw is properly tested, integrated across all of your CC apps and fully supported.
Thanks very much. Ric
A couple of quick comments around some of the questions that have come up so far:
- point well taken on the radio silence that's been going on for a while
- For the limited testing that I've done myself, performance seems just fine. But by all means, check it out and let us know if you're running into any issues
- AME workflows are covered for all I know, will confirm with engineering asap, stay tuned
How is this resolved? People are looking for native support, not a plugin.
Ahaha! How embarrassing that Blackmagic beat you to fixing your own software, Adobe!
Thank you Blackmagic! (Looks like people saying it's slow?? If so just use proxies with it.)
This isn't native support it's a plug in that doesn't even use the gpu, the main advantage of BRaw. We wanted full written by Adobe support. The insane thing is that you just announced you will be doing this for Prores Raw, which is far less used than Braw, what gives?
Wow, there are a lot of complainers here. I believe Adobe and Blackmagic worked together to make this. And here it is. And YET, no one seems happy.
There is now official support for BRaw in Premiere Pro. And it seems to run fine for me. Also, it will no doubt get better.
But by all means keep complaining if you'd like. OR buy Autokroma's plugin (which worked pretty well too and has some nice extra features before the official support). Or tell us how much more you like Resolve. Just keep complaining.
"I want a pony." Here's a pony. "That took too long. I want five elephants instead."

I installed the plug in yet it still does not recognized braw files. What gives?
Now please make it dynamic-linkable to After Effects - Thank you
Woooow! This was the lamest thing ever Adobe! This is by far some biggest bull**** I’ve ever heard. There is one company out there that really cares about customers - Black Magic! Using Davinci over a year, amazing software and support. It’s time for full switch.
How can 'we' (Adobe) improve Premiere Pro?
'Support Blackmagic RAW' (That's Native Support for all applications within Adobe)
RESOLED: "We’re delighted to let you know that high performance support for Blackmagic RAW is now available for Premiere Pro. (Even though we can't take credit for it, nor were we involved in the production of it, nor do we care about ever supporting it, here's a 'half-answer' that someone else came up with that we'll claim resolved OUR (your) problem. Now all of you... please just go away! Oh, and let us know How we can improve Premiere Pro anytime in the future. (smiley face)"
I find it funny that Patrick went Radio Silent, pretending that he was unaware that there even was an issue (even though it was the number one issue on Adobe's website) for a year, letting everyone get so frustrated that they all started to jump ship, and then when Blackmagic comes up with a partial solution (still no support for AFTER EFFECTS), Patrick Palmer comes out of nowhere like Dolores Umbridge as if he was on our side all along and acts like Blackmagic's work solves everyone's problem.
Patrick, you didn't solve the problem. UNRESOLVED!
I need this to dynamically link to AFTER EFFECTS.
Thanks for Nothing, Adobe!
Autokroma will have an After Effects solution shortly. And yes, Autokroma, a plugin that utilizes the GPU would be hugely appreciated.
