Support Blackmagic RAW
Please add support for Blackmagic RAW .BRAW files as soon as possible! This would be a tremendous help to our workflow! .BRAW was released today: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicursaminipro/blackmagicraw

Thanks for all the feedback. It’s pretty clear that we’ve got to look into the workflow using this format more closely, there are enough reports about gaps at this point to reopen this item. I’ll post more info about next steps shortly. In the meantime, a couple of questions are easy to answer:
- The plugin is designed for Premiere Pro. It currently doesn’t provide support for After Effects.
- It does work with AME, so if you want to use it for batch processing, that’s very doable
- If you’ve started a project with Autokroma, there’s no easy way to transfer it to be running with the new plugin.

BRAW Studio : Batch apply color grades to 100 .BRAW at once, in a few clicks
In this tutorial you'll learn how you can batch apply whole .BRAW color grades to dozens of footages in our PrPro Panel, a Lumetri-like Source Settings panel with tons of bonus features specialized in Blackmagic RAW

And it’s been almost 2 years since Adobe’s Patrick Palmer said they were looking into BRAW support. Wonder if Patrick is even involved or with Adobe anymore.

Oct 2020. At this late date it’s been made very clear Adobe will not “natively support” the BRAW codec as advertised.
Adobe has added support for many newer camera codecs such as the recent ProResRaw while bypassing BRAW. They rightly see Blackmagic as a formidable competitor with Resolve. -

Still no update on this!? It's been over a year since Patrick said he will post more info about the next steps shortly. Shows that Adobe really doesn't care about providing native support for BRAW

Beware everyone, the Blackmagic Premiere Pro plugin is still buggy even in the latest version 1.8.1, for example the Exposure Slider doesn't have any effect ! https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=110290

It’s been 2 years since the format was released now. On my latest project I have had to bin off premiere pro and move the whole thing into resolve. I pay for this software, I don’t for davinci, even avid media composer first (the free one) provides better support. Is anyone at adobe even bothering to develop native support? I don’t want to buy a plug-in.

I don't know if it's Autokromas plan, but the best solution for us users would be if Adobe bought or licensed the BRAW Studio and incorporated it into the Creative Cloud apps. With the 12k Ursa coming, I can't see BlackmagicRaw going away.

Yes, it’s unusable- crashed maybe 8 times in an hour for me yesterday. I’ve lost time and money dealing with this and the most frustrating part is that this community has been asking to have this properly and reliably supported for 2 YEARS! We’ve been pacified with inadequate developments that haven’t been properly thought through or executed. It’s just not good enough in my opinion.

Totally agree. The latest BRaw plugin from Blackmagic let’s you load the footage and play it. But the moment I hit the Master settings to adjust the raw settings, PP2020 just hangs, spinning ball of doom, force quit. This is across 3 different machines, all running the latest PP2020 build, latest braw plugin. Making the work on a 6 cam shoot, 4 ursa 2 pocket cine, incredibly frustrating. Ended up baking everything to Prores from within Davinci Resolve because there literally is no native support within PP2020 for Braw. Please address this. It is a very popular set of cameras.

The buggiest software I've ever used. Crashes every 5 minutes... before auto-save can even save! BRAW 1.8 is NOT suitable for production. Please help advise Blackmagic so this software can be stable, useful and helpful!

It's a sad day that I have to get solicited to by a third-party on the Adobe form for an update that should have been already included can we quit the politics already and support the file format already

Another Premiere Pro update and still no native support for BRAW. What's the hold up Patrick?
-
Darren Manden commented
@James Alton - The BRAW plugin isn't an Adobe plugin, it's from Blackmagic themselves, which is why it doesn't get auto-updated when you update Prem. None of the third party plugins which you install update like that.
Crossing fingers that Adobe get their own native support for BRAW going though, so then we don't have to worry about this.

I'm curious why the Blackmagic RAW plugin isn't autoupdated in Premiere? I had no idea I was using a wildly out of date plugin until days of research and finally installing the official Blackmagic RAW 1.7 plugin. Can Premiere not handle this for me?
