Renaming Clips from the Timeline OR Project Panel should update them in both places automatically. It doesn't.
Renaming Clips from the Timeline OR Project Panel should update them in both places automatically. It doesn't.
Example: If you rename a clip from the timeline, the same clip should also have it's name updated in the project panel. But instead, only the one is updated, and the previous name remains on the other.
The same thing happens if you rename from the Project Panel, the timeline name will not update.
This works CORRECTLY FOR SEQUENCES, but not clips.
Adobe, for those who like to keep their projects organized... PLEASE FIX!
Thank you

An update to this issue – take a look at this post on the Beta forum where we are announcing an improvement to label colors. Essentially we've removed the checkbox to control if the label color is shown and it is now an option in the Wrench menu in the Timeline panel. This way it can be available to Productions users as well as assigned a keyboard shortcut for easy toggling. This already exists- under the File menu, Project Settings and General you can tick the "Display the project item name and label color for all instances"
That's exactly what you are asking for.

Having the option for this to be the case should be configurable, then. As an editor, I personally DO NOT want the names different, ever.

You're assuming that all editors want the name to change in both places. That's most definitely NOT true. Having it your way would be disruptive to a LOT of editors.
