Smart import - premier should know if the files have already been imported and give operator option to exclude dupes
Is there a simple way to either prevent Premiere from importing the same file into a project twice, or perhaps some sort of script that will automatically tag imported files in the finder?
The slight issue that we often have material added to our assets folder constantly as we're cutting, and it becomes difficult to keep track of what media has been imported and what hasn't, and we'd like to avoid having multiple instances of the same file in our projects.
Any workarounds or solutions?

Dear Sir, take a look at Watchtower extension, it does what you need:

Also can you make it so that when importing .r3d files you can just drag folder from the finder without the clips over 4gb getting duplicated, like you can for all other file types? Right now I have to click a million times though folder structures in the media browser panel to import .r3d files.
In my option your main goal should be to make all workflows in premiere require as few clicks as possible.
