The ability to set all scratch disks for a project at once.
The ability to set all scratch disks for a project at once.
Or to be able to default all projects to a location than "Same as Project."
While it may be helpful to be able to select a scratch disk location for each of usual previews, auto saves etc. It would be super helpful to have the option to set them all to the same location with a single button, (or set of check boxes activated with a single button.)
For example, my projects folder lives on my boot drive, i have a separate render drive which i would like to be able to globally set as the default scratch disk for all new projects.

Yes. Just to have a checkbox that links all scratch disk to Same as Project would be awesome, so we don't need set them one-by-one.

I've been hoping for and expecting this to be added for several versions now.
I work in a shared environment where space is at a premium.
I have a local RAID of 21TB. Its wasteful for us to use the shared network storage for render files when we each have local RAIDS of 21TB that should be used for this purpose.
Before we switched to PP, FCP 7.0 allowed us to select any drive we wanted to render previews to. It was a global setting. (see attached)Preview/Render files are disposable and can take up a lot of space.
The default location being the project folder works for some, but I would imagine for many it's a poor use of precious storage space. The argument of "storage is cheap, what's the problem?" doesn't work for us. We could have a lot more storage back, if we didn't have to use it for disposable preview/render files (40-50GB in some cases).
There are 8 in my department, 15 in another department, and 3 in another building.Currently I have to remember to change my scratch disks for audio and video previews with each project. As a finishing editor, I may work on 8 projects in one day, and 4 new ones the next day, and so on. So I have to remember to do this every time, and it's just not gonna happen. That's just me. The other 25 editors/preditors must do the same.
