Allow Text Kerning in Essential Graphics / mogrts
Essential Graphics mogrts is a a great concept. But useless when you can't kern a poorly spaced title... :-/

From discussions with an engineer, supposedly kerning in Pr is all set for "optical" kerning. Users don't have any options.
Among other weird behaviors, in say Minion Pro, ANY manually set kerning turns ALL kerning off for the font ... for some number of added text elements. And at some point, turns on again, again ... without user control.
This is NEVER behavior that would be expected. After Dacia tried out a few things, she responded to me that for setting any manual kerning for some fonts turns off all kerning, but for other fonts, you can set a different kerning for one letter without turning off all kerning.
This is NOT useful behavior! Give the users controls here!
I just want to be able to move one letter closer to another in a word. Normally on would place the cursor between the letters, hold down alt and use the left/right arrows and it would do it. This does not happen in Premiere 2018. In fact the kerning function in Essential graphics is grayed out completely.
Kerning is supported for Pr Graphic Text Layers, as is Tracking. If it's not working for you, can you tell or show us how it is broken?
On the other hand, if you mean aegraphics (graphics which came from Ae mogrt), then your request for Kerning properties for Source text is a good one. Please just note that, even if Kerning is supported as an editable property for Ae mogrts, it would still have to be added as an Editable Property by the content creator on the Ae side. If you really want to have Kerning and many other text controls in Pr, you might consider using Pr Graphics with Pr MOGRTS.
