Ability to set seqences to native ProRes codecs.
Even if Adobe doesn't want to shell out for export licensing of ProRes codecs, it would be nice to have the option to create ProRes sequences so they're a native match when working with imported ProRes footage.

Doesn't make a difference, just create a custom sequence or drag the clip into the "new sequence icon". Sequences don't care about codecs, you can mix and match whatever you like - providing Premiere supports it.

If you're having trouble matching the variables Jim mentioned, then an easy way is to create a sequence from your prores clip by dragging it to the new sequence icon in the lower right hand corner of the project panel. You might be able to right click and 'make a sequence from clip" as well, but I'm not in front of a machine to check.

The only point of a "ProRes" sequence is to create ProRes previews. That's only possible on Macs.
So long as the resolution, frame rate and PAR of the sequence match your media, it doesn't really matter what preset is used.
